Class: Senior. Age: 17
Accomplishment: Witt, a quarterback/safety, had 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and passed for 48 yards and another score to lead North Arlington to a 43-8 season-ending win over Secaucus. A four-year, two-way starter, Witt was effective in directing the Flex-Bone Double Wing Triple Option offense — a style used by Navy and Army — to help the Vikings beat Secaucus for the first time since 2002 to finish a winning 4-3 season.
"We run most of the time and throw when we feel the other team is most vulnerable. Joey had a great game controlling the clock and making the best out of every play on offense. Of the seven drives we had, we scored six times. In his last game on the gridiron, he showed his leadership like he's never done before. He was the key part of us beating Secaucus for the first time since 2002."
— Coach Paul Savage
